pete_a Posted February 14, 2002 Posted February 14, 2002 I am hoping that this high pressure sticks around through Friday night/Saturday morning so I can get in a climb/ski of the south side route on Hood. Has anyone been up there in the past week? Seems like its probably quite climbable right now.Thanks. Petepeter_alderson@hotmail.com [ 02-13-2002: Message edited by: pete a ] Quote
bballer44 Posted February 16, 2002 Posted February 16, 2002 hey did you end up going? i went today the 15 and it was beautiful...made it to the devils kitchen and turned around...from the lack of partner and experience...good times though Quote
lisa Posted February 18, 2002 Posted February 18, 2002 Climbed Hood on the 15th,(So. side). It was very windy, with a brilliant blue, cloudless sky. The spewing sulphur in the Kitchen was awful, I was grateful for the winds I had cursed earlier. I thought Baker was stinky at times in Summer...not even close. Atop the hogsback, the Pearly Gates became narrow and steep. Winds pour into the gully, on both sides ice drapes itself over giant chunks of cauliflour snow. It may be a dog route in Summer, but it's a worthy one in Winter. Quote
