TheBootfitter Posted October 10, 2006 Share Posted October 10, 2006 NEW -- The East Fork Fire located approximately one mile north of Lena Lake in the Brothers Wilderness is currently estimated at 6 acres in size. The fire is slowly creeping in sub-alpine timber. Three fire fighters hiked into the fire Thursday, 10/5/06 to assess the fire situation. Based on the resource values, topography and time of year, only minimal suppression actions will be undertaken. For public safety, the Brothers Trail # 821 is closed to hikers at the wilderness boundary located just north of Lena Lake. The Lake itself and Upper Lena Lake Trail #81, remains open to the public.
