luwayo Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 who has seen one in my general neighbourhood? that'd be 2hrs either way of the Peace Arch/Truck crossing. please pm or post if you have one to get rid of. Quote
G-spotter Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 do you want the fabric one like OnSight makes, or a custom plywood model? Quote
luwayo Posted May 3, 2006 Author Posted May 3, 2006 prefer fabric. will consider hardseat if dirt cheap. were you skiving off somewhere today? Quote
G-spotter Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 so don't MEC carry them anymore? slept thru alarm, gate was locked i have so many excuses Quote
mughjie Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Marmot in Bellevue has the Yates belay seat for about $20. Quote
DirtyHarry Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Don't buy one you fucking Yuppie!!!! Plywood, foam pad, duct tape, webbing. Pretty simple. Quote
DirtyHarry Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Fabric belay seats are worthless. Not much more comfortable than a good harness and just another thing to carry. Unnecessary for free climvbing. If you're doing lots of aid, with multi-hour belays, a hard one is the way to go. Quote
luwayo Posted May 8, 2006 Author Posted May 8, 2006 found! sort of. stopped in at climb-on. george often has them, 'cept for last friday. (fiddled with some transformer-like OP Link cams instead. not for sale.) mec doesn't carry the belay seats anymore....referred me to carleson's. carleson's could only offer a beefed up model for SAR. they've got an interesting on-line catalogue.
