Hola folks,

Being partner-less, I was thinking of doing some bouldering this weekend. I just recently started climbing, and don't know all the hotspots yet. I'm in Seattle and willing to spend up to 3 hours on the road, but no more than a half hour on the approach. Where would y'all recommend I go?

Dont think that I am the best person to tell you but.. Try the swiftwater picknick area off Highway 2. Get a Leavenworth ROck book at your local gear shop to view details. Or just drive into the Icicle and find a boulder they are aplenty.

Rattlesnake Lake is out by North Bend (30 minutes from Seattle) and since the water level is so low, there are exposed boulders with some good problems.

Definately the best spot for bouldering in the statle lies in Leavenworth. There are a ton of problems out there yet to be discovered. Forest Land Boulders and Mad Meadows are two excellent spots.

There is currently construction on the road heading out to the Pearly Whites (The boulders on Mountain Home Road) so bring a mountain bike or be prepared to park and hike a ways.
