Drederek Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 I see there are a couple of guidebooks, any helpful advice as to which is better? Quote
Marty Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Rock Fax's, Islands In the Sky, covers all the good stuff. I think they sell it off www.rockfax.com. This is the best bang for your buck and its a cool guide as well. Quote

texplorer Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Why would you want to climb the limestone? Quote
Drederek Posted April 27, 2006 Author Posted April 27, 2006 There are 2 reasons why I want to climb limestone in Vegas. The first is that I have never climbed on limestone. Secondly we usually hit the canyons for multipitch the first three days and sportclimb the fourth before catching a late flight back home. With a high concentration of climbs in limestone areas we should be able to get a lot of pitches in on the last day. If we don't die of heat prostration I'll let youall know how it turned out in a week or two. Quote
ivan Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Why would you want to climb the limestone? so you can close your eyes and imagine you're on the eiger mordwand? Quote

texplorer Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Have fun. The climbing is mostly at tough grades but if you have never climbed limestone you may like it. Also, it has been quite pleasant climbing in the canyons up until now. I did prince of darkness on monday and it was a bit chilly climbing in shade. Quote
