Dru
stemalot, Shaun and I tried to climb secret alpine objective today Too warm! Even tho it was -7C in Abbotsford at 7 AM. We got our asses served to us 1/3 of the way up the route and bailed.
jordop
I thought it might be a lttle warm for local projs Though you proabably thought jmace and I would wallow in the mysteriously deep, crustless snows of Ghost Pass. And you would have been right. 4.5 hr death march to "big rockslide" Suckness all round

Dru
The useful info is that it was too warm on the sunny south face Would have been a great day for ice climbing at Sumallo Bluffs, it was reportedly down to -25C in Manning last night. Anyone? Dumbass I am Sumallo Bluffs looked good, esp BK. I'd give it another week if possible though. Still, it looked to be the fattest of anything in the Hope area. Dru
But you were smart enough to build a roaring campfire and thaw out the whiskey, weren't you.
luwayo
i was dumb enough to want to if we had, we would have summited fricken welch. we reached 7530' but if the snow was any harder it would have meant front pointing or doing the 2, 3 o'clock thing up long stretches of 45d. call me a weenie, but if that had gotten to be the case i'd be rather uncomfortable with just my mountain axe. found some noisy styrofoam on and off. what is a rognon?
