al Posted January 7, 2002 Posted January 7, 2002 As of noon Monday (1/7) there's been 38 hours of above freezing temps, with the last 11 hours of 40+ temps and presumably rain at the 5300' elevation of Alpental. Think this will bring it all down on the routes like Chair and Tooth? Quote
Dru Posted January 7, 2002 Posted January 7, 2002 warm temps followed by a cold hard freeze can make excellent climbing and quick approaches on rock solid snow. only the skiiers will complain. Quote
mattp Posted January 7, 2002 Posted January 7, 2002 Current forecast: SATURDAY AND SUNDAY...RAIN OR SNOW LIKELY. SNOW LEVEL FALLING TO AROUND 2500 FEET. Quote
zippy_monkey_boy Posted January 7, 2002 Posted January 7, 2002 here in the nw? cold after warm without new dumping snow? dreamers, once in a few winters, gota go for it then as it rare-ly happens. big 4 4 me. best of luck cause that is what you need! matt p gets it it seems. Quote
al Posted January 8, 2002 Author Posted January 8, 2002 That's a lot of hours of warm rain. Will any ice be left up there, is my point. Quote
