philfort Posted January 4, 2002 Posted January 4, 2002 This is a long shot, but does anyone know if the logging road that ascends Bob Creek on the north side of Cashmere mtn is open to the public, specifically to snowmobiles? I called the ranger station, they said there was some private property around there somewhere, but not really sure where. The road is marked as "restricted" on maps. Does that mean its private? Quote
Stefan Posted January 4, 2002 Posted January 4, 2002 No one lives up that way. I think the forest service says “restricted” because they don’t want motorcyclists using the road—those roads are soft in spring and could suffer a lot of damage from use. No one will be patrolling for illegal snowmobilers. I have heard of people snowmobiling that road to get to the top of Cashmere and they went that way. But when did they go? I don’t know. Could be several years ago. Could be that the roads have been decommissioned. Best bet is to contact some snowmobile club in Wenatchee and see what they have to say about it. Quote
Stefan Posted January 4, 2002 Posted January 4, 2002 If you do access that road via snowmobile--then let me know. I would be interested in using that road too for snowmobiling.... Quote

klar404 Posted January 5, 2002 Posted January 5, 2002 You guy's planning on going Roostin'? Cause if you are, I'd just hike out into the snow with a quart of 10W-40 and pour it all over the place. Quicker, easier on the ears and fast as hell! Quote
