It looks like things will cool down again up north by friday or saturday. Based on past experience, what areas will stay in and which ones will suffer a horrible fate like this:

Lillooet will stay in, and all the local ice will have melted out, except maybe Whistler and Box Canyon.

With all the alpine melt-freeze, there MUST be ice somewhere near Whistler - maybe not on the ski hill or lift-served, though.

Thats what I thought but Dons post to West Coast ice kind of took me by surprise. Ya if we get some cold in the alpine after this rain should be stellar and it will be winter season!

Yes with a forecasted high of 9c and a low of 7c for Seymour tomorrow, I doubt Harvey is doing much in the ice making department.

I climbed the little pillar next to this, and played around on this...after getting to the top of the back flow I reached out and swung into the next icicle left, whole thing broke off... I chickened out of trying any further.

Chilliwack Group sedimentary rock of Devonian age I think it is a little bit metamorphosized too - probably I would call it slate or phyllite.
