Dru Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 These are all unclimbed Probably melting out today Quote
TrogdortheBurninator Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 It looks like things will cool down again up north by friday or saturday. Based on past experience, what areas will stay in and which ones will suffer a horrible fate like this: Quote
Dru Posted December 19, 2005 Author Posted December 19, 2005 Lillooet will stay in, and all the local ice will have melted out, except maybe Whistler and Box Canyon. Quote
jmace Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Except that there is apparantly no ice in whistler. Nice pic Dru Quote
Dru Posted December 19, 2005 Author Posted December 19, 2005 With all the alpine melt-freeze, there MUST be ice somewhere near Whistler - maybe not on the ski hill or lift-served, though. Quote
jmace Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Thats what I thought but Dons post to West Coast ice kind of took me by surprise. Ya if we get some cold in the alpine after this rain should be stellar and it will be winter season! Quote
Dru Posted December 19, 2005 Author Posted December 19, 2005 I wonder how NF of Harvey is doing - probably pretty bare bones right now. Quote
jmace Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Yes with a forecasted high of 9c and a low of 7c for Seymour tomorrow, I doubt Harvey is doing much in the ice making department. Quote
fenderfour Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 You funny Canadians and your celsius nonsense... Quote
Dru Posted December 20, 2005 Author Posted December 20, 2005 I climbed the little pillar next to this, and played around on this...after getting to the top of the back flow I reached out and swung into the next icicle left, whole thing broke off... I chickened out of trying any further. M7 boulder problem? Quote
dbb Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 what kind of rock is that, oh rock knowing master? Quote
Dru Posted December 20, 2005 Author Posted December 20, 2005 Chilliwack Group sedimentary rock of Devonian age I think it is a little bit metamorphosized too - probably I would call it slate or phyllite. Quote
