RocNoggin Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 damn, I love Chamonix! I wish I could get over there to join you but I wont be able to this year. we have a bunch of family coming to stay from out of state from Christmas and New Year so I am kinda stuck here. what climbs are you going to try to do? Gaston Posted December 1, 2005 Author Posted December 1, 2005 The Rebuffat-Terray on the Pelerins, Supercouloir, N Face Charmoz, NE Buttress of Les Droites, Lagarde Couloir, Nant Blanc Face on the Verte, something on the Brenva face. Hope to get on two or three of these. Stuff is in shape, so with decent weather there should be good climbing. Quote
RocNoggin Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 wow, a great hit list! just goes to show how much great climbing is in the Chamonix area. I have been to France climbing once already this year and I just wish it wasnt so expensive so I could go back again, especially to Cham. we didnt get to spend much time there earlier this year, the weather was too crummy for climbing. and around Christmas everything gets even more expensive. do you already have lodging? maybe for shits and giggles I will look to see how much airfare is now... CoryNeffC Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 864$ right now on delta 14.5 hrs there and 21 hours back from seattle to paris. My wife says no Quote
RocNoggin Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 I found $783+ on NW Air. about the same time as Delta getting there but I think it was only 16 hours or so getting back. and that was flying in and out of Geneva. at any rate, too rich for my blood and I still have the family obligations to consider so it looks like I am out as well. John Frieh Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Hey Forrest  Are you looking for a solid partner the whole time or would ~ a week be okay? Quote
Gaston Posted December 2, 2005 Author Posted December 2, 2005 A week would be great. I've got a German friend who will probably be showing up the 26th or so; if your week is before that, awesome! If it overlaps, that's fine too, as long as you are okay climbing as a group of three. Quote
