none_dup1 Posted July 24, 2002 Posted July 24, 2002 Any recent reports would be welcome! (trail conditions, pro needed, etc.) Thanks! Quote
chucK Posted July 24, 2002 Posted July 24, 2002 Gear up to about a #1 Camalot. It will go much faster if you can handle some runouts. Thompson (West Ridge) is a long ways in to carry rock gear for a pretty mediocre climb. The East Ridge is a fun scramble (4th class at top), and gets you the same awesome views . Quote
DPS Posted July 25, 2002 Posted July 25, 2002 Can't respond to the trail conditions, but some snow is likely to linger. The climbing route is a bit dirty and indistinct. We brought maybe 6 nuts and 4 cams and 6 over the shoulder slings and climbed in our running shoes. Seemed like enough gear. The views make the long approach and mediocre climbing worthwhile. Quote
