layton Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Hey, So i've got about an hour of truly amazing digital video footage i took with my friends camera. My problem is that i don't have a firewire jack on my laptop to edit from the video camera he has (only option to connect his camera to my 'puter as far as either of us know). Anyway, i've do two killer digital video tapes just laying around. I need to edit them down b/c 80% of the footage is unusable shakey, swirley, sunglaring crap. Any ideas of how i can either a.)hook the dig video camera to the computer so i can edit with Premier or b.)where can i go to edit and save the good clips to cd? thank you so much for helping! i will share my footage when i am done. deadbeatchrist Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 You can get a firewire to usb adapter for you situation and that would be cheaper than going and using a labs cpu setup... here is a website where you can get one for 'somewhat' cheap. http://www.bizrate.com/buy/products__cat_id--46002,keyword--firewire%20to%20usb.html I'd do more shopping around if I were you though. (...You may have to copy and paste that address...) Quote
Thinker Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 The 911 Media Arts Center in Seattle might be a good resource for you. You might be able to trade a few volunteer hours for the use of some equipment there. http://www.911media.org/ http://www.911media.org/facilities/ Quote
olyclimber Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 another option if you need it: If you just need to get the video to disk, I have firewire on my computer mike. I have a DV camera if you just have the tapes, and can get put the files onto a DVD data disk, and then you could edit them on your 'puter (if you have a DVD drive to read the disks that is). Quote
