Prox Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 It's east of Mount Vernon and south of Hamilton. Didn't see any real trails but there was enough parking and a few indications folks had climbed on it. It's pretty remote, but as logging roads go this is kinda off a main logging highway. Finney Creek road leads to it, kind of, although that's not the fastest way in. Obviously nothing huge here but the area was nice and seemed like there might be at least some starter stuff: Quote

plexus Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Crap!!! I can't remember!!! It's right at the pass, also which name I can't remember. I remember seeing it on an overnight winter trip up there. That spring my friend and I climbed a route there....OK, I went through my old clippings from when I wrote for the SVHerald...and the answer is Palace Rock by Cumberland Pass. There are some routes on the SW side. I remember doing a dihedral with a thin crack, some shrub pro and it being in the 5.9 range. I knew a guy that did a few routes there. Super hard rock with some 10 stuff there. God I'm getting senile!! Quote
Prox Posted July 27, 2005 Author Posted July 27, 2005 Yep, Cumberland pass sounds right, because Cumberland Creek starts right there.... Thanks! Quote
