flyingkiwi1 Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 Has anyone ever done this? Seems like I've seen a TR but I can't find it. fk Quote
spicoli11 Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 I was up there not long ago.......nothing to hard. The ridge is pretty straightforword as I remember. There were a couple gullies on the east of chair or a buttress on the south to gain the summit. Quote
flyingkiwi1 Posted July 1, 2005 Author Posted July 1, 2005 Cool, thanks. I've never climbed up Chair. Would you recommend reading up on the up-routes I'd be choosing from to downclimb it, or can a reasonable 5.8 crack soloer just figure it out up there? Quote

Marko Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 If you stay on the ridge crests there are 2 short bits that you may want to rappel. Quote
Norman_Clyde Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 SEF is familiar with this route. If you approach Chair from the South, it's relatively nontechnical. I haven't done the "enchainment" so I can't comment on the difficulty if you try to stay on the ridge top the whole way, but on the west side you can side-hill on talus to the obvious ascent gully.
