flyingkiwi1
Has anyone ever done this? Seems like I've seen a TR but I can't find it. fk
Alpinfox
Yeah. It's a fun romp. Go for it!
spicoli11
I was up there not long ago.......nothing to hard. The ridge is pretty straightforword as I remember. There were a couple gullies on the east of chair or a buttress on the south to gain the summit.
flyingkiwi1
Cool, thanks. I've never climbed up Chair. Would you recommend reading up on the up-routes I'd be choosing from to downclimb it, or can a reasonable 5.8 crack soloer just figure it out up there? sobo
...can a reasonable 5.8 crack soloer just figure it out up there? Yes, rather easily. Have fun.
Marko
If you stay on the ridge crests there are 2 short bits that you may want to rappel.
Norman_Clyde
SEF is familiar with this route. If you approach Chair from the South, it's relatively nontechnical. I haven't done the "enchainment" so I can't comment on the difficulty if you try to stay on the ridge top the whole way, but on the west side you can side-hill on talus to the obvious ascent gully.
