During crack climbing the last few weeks, I have gotten a sharp pain (like a needle being inserted into the center of my palm)while my middle and ring fingers are in flexion. This only happens when my thumb is inverted. [Grab the top center of your car steering wheel with your left hand and turn the car to the right, or insert the fingers of your left hand into grab a vertical crack at about head height and pull to the left. The pain is a very localized sharp feeling like a needle in the center of my palm, approximately in line with the branching of the median nerve to the nerves of those two fingers. I don't know if it is a nerve or a tendon. It doesn't feel like a nodule or pulley issue. Any ideas?

wait a few days while icing it, then get proper orthopedic tests done at a osteopath or chiropractor or orthopedist b/c you can't diagnose this over the internet

WHen I saw that you had replied, I was wondering what sort of comment you were going to make about stopping the repeated motions with my palm, but you must be mellowing...... wave.gif

i get sort of the same but lower in the plam/wrist area.

should probly have it checked out, but if your poor like me

a couple of wraps of tape seem to cure the pain and taking it easy for a while helps too or cource.

yeah it helps alot in fact it feels normal when wraped but it probly does not speed up the healing process. i pretty much wrap the wrist area it only takes 2-3 wraps( if u half over lap the first wrap and work your way down ur arm) also if you spread your hand wide while taping it allows for better movement after its taped. but my problem may be differnt than yours and im not a doctor
