darstog Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Grivel Condor Baaadddasss or Not Enough? It's light, could we leave our axe at home for MOST conditions? Is this the softshell of ice axes? Quote
dbb Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 wow, that is so cool. I dunno if I'd bring it along on a climb but for steep skiing BD may have a little competition. This thing seems to cost $57 for the handle which you could put on any pole, or $62-97 for an actual pole. The whippets cost at least twice that for the pole+handle. Quote

Not according to BDEL: $79.50 for the whole pole/whippet combination. (source) Quote
Mark_Husbands Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Condor...the first leashless sef-arrest ski pole. Quote
kenp Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 this seems really cool huh? I wanted a whippet but now I can use the poles I already have. Quote
Dr_Crash Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Nice. Less hardcore than the whippet though, as when the blade is retracted you don't have the fun factor of risking a cut if falling. drC Quote
Squid Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Let's not discount the potential thrill of having your wrist snapped in half. Quote
