Anyone interested in doing Wyoming's highest in July? Gannett Peak is considered the second most difficult, after Denali, of the states' highpoints. S'posed to be a beautiful climb.

If interested, please PM me.

Thanks,

Greg

Only due to access/remoteness. What's your planned route on the peak and approach? How long in the area? There's a number of climbs I'd like to do in that area of the range - one a five to six pitch ice/mixed.

A spectacularly beautiful wilderness area.

The access isn't that bad, and it's not that remote.. Just pack very light, and wear goretex trail running shoes.. And don't forget the afternoon lightning. And the particulary destructive snaffles.. snaf.gif

If you enter on the Glacier Trail, you will want some sturdy boots instead of shoes. The trail is rough in spots and about 25miles to Wilson Meadows. it takes a toll on the feet. There are other ways in, of course, but this is the best route for the North face- which I recomend.
