I'm interested in a super comfy harness for use in teaching or rescue practice, where I am hanging for long periods. I don't care how much it weighs. It doesn't need lots of clever features and affordable would be nice. What would you recommend?

If you can, I'd go to the store and try them on. Ask them to let you actually hang in the thing and see how it feels.

Padding and wide webbing are probably going to be big plusses for you but I think you'll find that the actual "fit" or the length of the "rise" or other factors that pertain to just how the harness fits your body are going to be quite significant. You also get to check which ones have some clumsy buckle or something.

I've spent a silly amount of hours hanging in the Yates Big Wall. I can only say good things. Easily the most comfortable harness I've tried on. When we first got ours, the joke was that they're more like a diaper than a harness. They're so soft and huggy. Knowing what a diaper feels like is cool, right? Guys?
