Synthetic Alpine Bag

Any recommendations out there for a synthetic alpine sleeping bag? Weight and compressibility are obviously a concern. I would like to keep it under 2.5 lbs. Temp rating around 25-32 degrees.

I like my Integral Designs Renaissance. It is just outside of the ranges you specified though: 2lbs 14oz and they rate it at 20 F / -5 C. Check one out at ProMountain Sports.

I have an REI Nooksack +35F bag. It is 2lbs 4oz, uses Promaloft and seems to be rated conservatively. I've used it in 15F temp with a belay jacket and was very warm. For the price it is hard to beat. $159.00

Has anybody bought or used the new Marmot Pounder (40 degrees) or Pounder Plus (25 degrees)? It is not on their website yet, but it is for sale. Wondering what the verdict is.

If you're prepared to consider bags rated to 40 degrees then check out the MEC Penguin 2 Overbag

of the other slightly warmer Penguin.

 

It really depends on how light you want to go. I've used one of these in the Cascades in the summer, wearing all my clothes inside it. It also works well as an overbag in winter (skip the GTX bivvi bag, use this instead).
