retired Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Thinking I would have to climb high for any turns this spring I bought a new pair of garmont syner g-fit boots (much lighter than my Garas) I got a great deal from a private party they are new but not in the original box with no info. will I have to go to a shop to form the liners, or can you do it yourself...say in a warm oven? Any info will be appreciated, but a good solid 2 foot powder dump would be apprecited more. Jim Quote
pete_a Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 yes, you can cook liners in an oven, easy to do if you follow all the steps...and if you screw up, you can always re-cook the liners and try again. a link from T-P site with instructions: http://www.telemark-pyrenees.com/shop/article_info.php?articles_id=3 a video showing the whole process: http://www.telemarktips.com/video/thermofit.mpg Quote
tomtom Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Be conservative with the temp. I had mine set to 350 and scorched the outer layer after 5 minutes. (If they start smoking, pull them out.) The liners fit fine and the damage was only cosmetic. Quote
retired Posted March 8, 2005 Author Posted March 8, 2005 thanks guys, looks like a good afternoon for baking. Quote
hubris Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 I will 2nd the consevative approach with the temperature. You will love your G-Fit liners. Now if we could only get some snow.... Quote
TheOldHouseMan Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Most shops will do it for free if you purchased the liners from them. Quote
