UIsasquatch Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Im a big newbie to Ice climbing, my roommate got me into it and we're just looking for a good place to go within 6 hours of Moscow ID. I hear Wallowas are good and so is Strawberry, But anything else would help a lot, as well as locations of the climbs in those two areas. Thanks Quote
DPS Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 How about going to Banff, not sure what the driving time from Moscow is though. Quote

kurthicks Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 UI - as a 5 year resident of Pullman (and recent UI grad), i feel your hurt. All I can say is be willing to drive. I've put almost 35k miles on my car in the last year. There is a lot to be climbed if you're willing to work though. the Weeping Wall at bluewood is alright if it's been cold, it's usually in when there's ice on the local roadcuts. as for specifics within 6 hours: Bull river (5ish), Gibraltar Wall(5ish), L-worth (4), Banks (3), snoqualmie (4), wallowas (3), Banff is 7-8... there's a lot out there. PM me if you want more or need a partner. I'm pretty free these days. - Kurt Quote
UIsasquatch Posted January 19, 2005 Author Posted January 19, 2005 Thanks a lot, Now if this damn warm spell goes away, I have a little info to go climb with. My roommate has actually climbed with you before Kurt, so we'll give you a call when it gets a little colder again. Quote
