Ice in N. Idaho, East Oregon Area

Im a big newbie to Ice climbing, my roommate got me into it and we're just looking for a good place to go within 6 hours of Moscow ID.

 

I hear Wallowas are good and so is Strawberry, But anything else would help a lot, as well as locations of the climbs in those two areas.

How about going to Banff, not sure what the driving time from Moscow is though.

there is some things a few hrs over the canada border you can TR near radium and Waterton. Its in the CA Rockies ice book

Try Bluebell, just outside of Dayton and post a TR let us know. it is in the washinton ice book. This is near walla walla. Let me know if you need directions.

UI - as a 5 year resident of Pullman (and recent UI grad), i feel your hurt. All I can say is be willing to drive. I've put almost 35k miles on my car in the last year. There is a lot to be climbed if you're willing to work though. the Weeping Wall at bluewood is alright if it's been cold, it's usually in when there's ice on the local roadcuts. as for specifics within 6 hours: Bull river (5ish), Gibraltar Wall(5ish), L-worth (4), Banks (3), snoqualmie (4), wallowas (3), Banff is 7-8... there's a lot out there.
