Farrgo Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 Wondering if anyone has seen the north side of Big Four? Wondering if any of the routes are in condition? Quote
glassgowkiss Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 i don't think the conditions in the mountains are good for climbing at this point. there is a lot of deeeeeep snow, we are supposed to get another 6" today. go ice climbing around hope- you might wait for conditions like this another 7 years. go and do Mr Freeze or repeat Anthrax Ripple. The Plum is in. or go put up a new line. Quote
Ade Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 Right! It's very cold but before the big freeze there was very little in the way of good snowpack. I was put at Bug Four just before Christmas an the lower third of the face didn't have any snow on it at all. Quote
Farrgo Posted January 12, 2005 Author Posted January 12, 2005 thanks for input, i had heard there was a high pressure system moving in and i wanted to take advantage. the stuff around hope has been good for a while and more cold means its only gonna get fatter! thanks. Quote
Alex Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 As of yesterday NF Big Four had very little snow (you can still see the brush on the lower face) and big crowns up high. Quote
layton Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 yeah, but those big crowns are soooo much fun. kinda like waiting in line for a crappy job at worksource at 5:30am or remodleing the room of a dead loved one. Quote
