southernmtguide Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 Has anyone been out to Banks Lake, Copper Falls, Stevens over the past weekend? Any good news as to any ice in condition? Quote
chrisr Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 Banks and Copper are both a no, I don't know about Stevens Quote
NYC007 Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 Chilco is the closest to being in needs a week of cold weather to be climbable, coppers is running water hard not much is in, not even enough to climb a lil bit. stevens might be the best bet Quote
Kyle_Flick Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 We hiked up to Colchuck Lake on Sunday and climbed some good ice on the other side of the lake, below Jaberwocky tower. The hike in will be over 6 miles, though, due to the snow depth on 8 mile road. Quote
NYC007 Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 was it on the 75 degree slab next to the right facing corner, I saw it when I was up there not to long ago Quote
Kyle_Flick Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 The 40' vertical drip we climbed was near the lake shore and was next to an overhang. There was much potential higher and on some lower angle slabs, but would require some ingenuity in the approaches. Quote
kurthicks Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 you mean this one? sorry about the file size. http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/plab/show...=500&page=2 Quote
Kyle_Flick Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 Yep that's the one, but with a lot less snow and ice. Quote
