Hal_Burton Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 Looks like it'll be a little more work than just acquiring a Norwegian ski brigade snow camo uniform. Marblemount and Cougar sno parks are closed for the season. http://www.parks.wa.gov/winter/parks/motorparks.asp?Park=27 Quote
cj001f Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 That sounds like a decent reason to procure a snowmobile (did I just say that?) Quote
floodster Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 sounds like any poaching will just require a bit of road-slogging, or hearty bush-wacking. previous poaches (ie: w/out a climber's permit) have worked well for me on the worm flows route, via the june lake trail. Quote
iain Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 I wonder how they would enforce it. I could see some cool james bond scene forming where you're outskiing usgs helicopters as they throw seismograph tape at you. Quote
cj001f Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 I think of Volcan Villarica everytime the Helens closure comes up, an active volcano in the lake district of Chile. They run tourist trips to the top where people come back with pictures like this (not mine, ask next month) Quote
lancegranite Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 I snowboarded on Villarica in '94...pretty sick stuff. The crater gives off a rosy glow in the right set of cloud conditions. We skied above the resort, filming a ski and snowboard movie. The resort gave us free tickets and a guide. A "groupie" refused to listen to local beta and ingored warnings, then promptly fell off a 30 foot cliff to flat ice. ( first aid tip: a snowboard makes for a exellent back board, just remove the bindings.) The movie, shot in 16mm film, was never released. Quote
