skyclimb Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Climb: Mt. Washington-North Ridge Date of Climb: 10/8/2004 Trip Report: Heres a TR for all you people bitchin about nothing getting done in Oregon. We Climbed the North Ridge on Friday morning, beating the storm that has now covered the mountain in a snowy layer of frosting. We did the "eastern" variation", which was great. sobo Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Ya gotta love the Conan guy's "helmet" in the last pic! Righteous! Sorta reminds one of the guy on the right... Quote
Ireneo_Funes Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 What's the eastern variation of the North Ridge route? Just going to climber's left out of the notch, or something else? Quote
iain Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 there's a bunch of different ways up the east side off the notch. good rock, little pro, as is the case for most of that area. It's a good way to go, particularly if there are parties on the main drag. Quote
Chriznitch Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 I can remember looking over that way. After a couple moves you have hundreds of feet of exposure! The rock did look good, and during my first time on the NR (last fall) I thought that was the "normal" route... Quote
iain Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 The exposure is enormous, but it only takes a 30 foot fall to kill yourself. Quote
Chriznitch Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 35' if you have a pot strapped on your head Quote
