slothrop Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 Somehow I'm not sick of politics yet, so I'll ask: what's the dirt on Deborah Senn? Some right-wing wacko friends of my girlfriend's family say they know some dark little secret about her, but didn't elaborate. And now I read a letter from my local Democratic Party precinct that says, "For Attorney General, I support Mark Sidran by default--I know his opponent Deborah Senn too well to support." Well, I don't know her too well. What's the story? Rumors and speculation welcome. Quote
klenke Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 I don't know much about her other than she's ugly. Not as ugly as another attorney general I can think of, though. Clue: initials JR. Quote
mattp Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 I believe she has been thought divisive and questionnable as an administrator but I don't know about "the dirt." I think, too, that the insurance companies played hardball with her when she was Insurance Commissioner and tried to force some significant changes in health insurance in the State. Quote
dmuja Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 Its all politics. Senn often challanged insurance companies, held up rate increases etc., when she was Insurance Commish. She didn't always toe the corporate line, favored the lower classes and now she is being paid back for her "crimes". Piss off the big $$$ folks and they'll get you eventually.. Quote
rbw1966 Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 NPR just did a story on her as an example of how the Chambers of Commerce are funneling huge amounts of money into various campaigns across the country in support of pro-business candidates. Quote
slothrop Posted October 7, 2004 Author Posted October 7, 2004 Didn't the US Chamber of Commerce spend a large amount of money to fund attack ads against her in the recent primary? They must be pretty worried. Quote
