gotnoname Posted August 7, 2004 Posted August 7, 2004 I went to the factory sale and purchased 2 jackets. 1. Arc'Teryx Alpha SV Jacket, Mens Large, sangria colour, asking price $475(CDN): http://www.gearreview.com/shop/prod_details.php?sku=ARC0107 http://www.mtntools.com/cat/techwear/SoftShell/arcteryxgammamxhoody.htm 2. Arc'Teryx Gamma MX Hoody, Mens's Large, Sangria colour, asking price $350(CDN): http://www.arcteryx.com/product.aspx?group=Softshells?=1273 http://www.mtntools.com/cat/techwear/SoftShell/arcteryxgammamxhoody.htm These are amazing jackets...so why am I selling them? Sigh... I brought them home, wore it around the house for a few days and realized they were too big for me . I also have a regular size Borea that I've used for 2 years going for $210. It is truly an amazing back-country bag: http://www.arcteryx.com/product.aspx?group=Packs?=1392 http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER<>folder_id=676469&PRODUCT<>prd_id=196175&bmUID=1091861038758 I live in Vancouver, BC so if you VERY SERIOUS we can meet up for you to check the gear out. I'm pretty busy so please, only if you are serious. Email me if you are interested to discuss it or post here: gotnonameisalive@yahoo.com
fern Posted August 7, 2004 Posted August 7, 2004 are these "seconds" from the sale? i.e. not covered by warranty? I think your prices may be somewhat high.
gotnoname Posted August 8, 2004 Author Posted August 8, 2004 no warranty, but nothing wrong witn the jackets I'm willing to go down in price a bit...if worse comes to worse I'll use them.
tomtom Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 The Arcteryx Outlet store in Burnaby (?) has tons of jackets and clothing at better prices. I bought a Theta SL for 250 CDN.
Dru Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 yeah wtf i can buy arcteryx stuff with a warranty cheaper than that.
willstrickland Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 Same pieces at Mtn Gear right now for less loot, first quality, with warranty. I hesitated to post this because I think it's bad form to spray someone's for sale ad, but when the no-warranty "seconds" info just happens to comes out and wasn't included in the orginal ad...kinda reeks of the same situation as the dudes who cleaned out everything they could carry at the TNF store liquidation and reverted to playing profiteer. Anti-capitalistic? Maybe. But would you charge your climbing partner five bucks for an out of date Taddy Porter in the cooler when it cost you $3?
Dru Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 sounds like gotnoname bought this stuff on spec figuring he could sell it at a profit but now the truth is out. maybe they will be stupid on eBay.
fern Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 I think we all get the point. gotnoname please send me a PM if you want this thread unlocked so you can respond or add anything.
