schifahrenaufKies Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Got back from climbing Denali in late June and my toes are still sore. What the heck is this all about? I'm thinking it is due to descending from ABC to the landing strip in one haul. Any experiences, length of time for injury? Quote
chris_w Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 My toes were numb for over a month after doing the same descent. It'll go away. Quote
bDubyaH Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 I did the same thing about 5 years ago it lasted about 6 months and still have flare ups, particularly if my shoes/boots are not fit perfect. But it does go away, just take care of them toes. Quote
alpinerock Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 I came off the mountain June 3rd. My left big toe stopped feeling numb a couple of days ago but my right still feels funny. I just hope my right feels better after the nail falls off. Quote
teleon Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 It is an overuse injury- a minor neurological problem from repeatedly slamming your feet in boots(or repeatedly rubbing against the end of too small boots etc) Usually gradually resolves over less than a year. Quote
