cluck Posted July 3, 2004 Share Posted July 3, 2004 I've never been up there, but from what I gather, the rock is actually descent and takes pro OK. But the scrambling is 4th class so you probably won't bother placing too much gear. But I'm sure there's plenty others around here who have first hand experience and might be a bit more helpful. jlag Posted July 3, 2004 Share Posted July 3, 2004 Personally I don't think rock pro is needed on the pinnacle. I climbed the east side of it with boots no rope and no pro, an exposed cakewalk. The rock is actually good there and would take pro well. Make sure to get off that thing early, the pinnacle hails rock when it starts to warm up.
