Braumeister Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 MSR Pocket Rocket is light, hot, simple to operate and reliable. And pretty cheap. Snow Peak Giga stove is also very good but more expensive. If'n you want an expedition stove there is none better than the MSR XKG II. What danielpatricksmith said... Quote
Alpinfox Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 It is worth noting that with canister stoves the price of the stove is pretty insignificant compared to the amount you will pay for the canisters over the life of the stove (~$40 stove vs. $4/canister). They sure are lightweight/small/convenient though. I like my SnowPeak gigapower stove. I use a coleman propane stove ( camping) more than any other stove though. Quote
Ade Posted July 21, 2004 Posted July 21, 2004 Don't get an XGK unless your only going to melt snow or boil water. They are pretty useless for cooking but last forever and are super reliable. As for using gaz stoves in cold temps... Do not do this Or this Quote
