skykilo Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 Good frickin' luck! A sacrifice to the brush gods, at least you're not stuck back there with your crampons. Quote
tele_nut Posted June 21, 2004 Author Posted June 21, 2004 Hey but it's free to post here even if it is a long shot Quote
klenke Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 If I can find balloon carcasses in the middle of nowhere all the time (found two last Saturday), then it seems reasonable that the crampons might be found some day. Might be all rusty by the time they're found, though. Besides, though it seems improbable, climbers often follow the same route through brush (the path of least resistance) whether there's a tread or not. Quote
philfort Posted June 22, 2004 Posted June 22, 2004 (edited) Indeed, we found a pair crampons on the Goodell Creek approach 2 years ago, somewhere just below treeline. However... we were heading in and didn't want to carry them, so we placed them on an "obvious" stump to pick up on the way down. Turns out the stump wasn't obvious enough and the crampons are still up there somewhere Edited June 22, 2004 by philfort Quote
