terrible_ted Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 I took all the wood back to Home Depot because my 2X4 was 1.75X3.75. Can you believe it? No. Check your tape. How did you find oversized lumber? I'd have kept it... -t Quote
ashw_justin Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 Nah I say f*ck em, they should be held accountable for blatantly lying about the weight of their garments. Of course they know it was 12 oz. They also know if they say it's 10.5 oz, they'll have a better chance of outselling their competitors. You should blow the whistle on 'em. To whom, I don't know. Quote
Fromage Posted June 11, 2004 Posted June 11, 2004 solution: manufacturers should use confidence intervals... 10.8 ounces +/- 5% But at what level of significance, Mr. Smarty Social Science Pants? Alpha = .05? Are you willing to accept that one time out of twenty you might see an observation more than two standard deviations from the mean? Consider THAT carefully when buying your next jacket.
