Chad_A
Every time I've been to NCNP, it's always socked in. Hope to do Buckner relatively soon. From the cam pic taken here, which peaks are these? Just wondering. Thanks for the help. http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/plab/data/509/4625noca2004_144_1300.bmp Edited May 27, 2004 by vw4ever

jonthomp
it's always socked in.  Here's the current view of those peaks taken from the Newhalem webcam:  http://www2.nature.nps.gov/air/webcams/parks/nocacam/nocacam.htm  The flat topped one is The Chopping Block. At the right of the photo are the McMillan Spires I believe.

jonthomp
True enough. Mc.Spires are blocked by the hill in the foreview.
Chad_A
Ah, yes. The Pickets. Thanks for that
MikeLoeffler
The flat topped one is actually Pinacle Peak. The Pyramid, Mt. Dengenhardt, and Mt. Terror are to the left of Inspiration.
klenke
Pinnacle Peak also goes by the name Chopping Block. Probably more climbers refer to it as the latter even though it is called Pinnacle on maps. Â More annotated pleasures
klenke
Addendum per John Roper: the locals (i.e., those who live in the Marblemount/Newhalem area) refer to the peak as The Stump. Â Roper didn't go for my suggestion to call it "The Polyp."
