Off_White
Weather permitting, we'll be out there every Wednesday until it's much too rainy. That'd be great if you could make it Andy.
Drederek
Lets hope that this wednesday isn't the last. As the weather looks like it may be going to get a bit damper soon y'all better git on down this week!
Off_White
It should be a great early fall evening tonight. We've been busy setting some things up for the lead, so Confucious 11c, Rubber Boa 11c, Floater 11b, Squirt Theory 11a(?), Gone Against The Tide 10c, and the as yet unnamed 11c left of Floater are all ready for some attention. There's also a new trail between the old deck and the new bench that will really control erosion in that high traffic area underneath Hercules. Dave_Schuldt
I heard Off set up some lights. Next thing you know he'll build a roof over the cliff and heat it.
Off_White
Heating is nothing, it's the cost of cooling the proposed geodesic glass dome during the summer on this south facing crag that's going to be the biggest operational expense. Yes, climbing was had last night.
RocNoggin
anything planned for next week, weather permitting? do you have lights set up? cheers!
Off_White
I'll be out of town next week. Lights are mostly a joke, though a few folks have tried to stretch things out with headlamps as the days grow shorter. The evenings feel much more frenzied than those long slow June afternoons. RocNoggin
since we are running out of daylight, and good weather, does that mean we will get to do more drinking?!
Off_White
Well, between enduring sogginess and the recent time change, the Wednesday Night Fantasmagoria is over until sometime in the spring. There are however times when the cliff is climbable in the winter -- we've climbed there every month except December. PM me your email address if you would like to be added to the notification list so you can squeeze in a little sandstone loving as conditions permit. Drederek
How're things looking out there Off? Any reason to hope for dryness fri afternoon or saturday?
Off_White
You're as hopeful as Chris, who called yesterday. I dunno, things are quite wet, but predictably Calvin & Hobbes is almost ready; lower slab is damp and the roof at the crux is soaked and dripping on some key holds. Maybe by the weekend, if it doesn't rain, but we've had a LOT of water out here over the last month and the hill above the crag is pretty saturated. Off_White
As of today, there are about four routes on the right side that are dry enough. The handrail at the top of Virgins is wet, and it's gonna be wet behind the upper flake on the Governor. Calvin and Hobbes is dry as a bone, and Rosy Boa looks good too.
