Gripped
Hey All, Looking for a second Alpine Ice Tool... something that can be used for plunging and swinging. Has anyone used the Camo Montange Icetool? (On sale for cheap) What did you think of it? How does it stack up to the Shrike? Prophet? Thanks! John Frieh
Can't comment on the Camp tools, but if you are considering the Shrike and Prophet; also look at the Alp wing, Compact black (in 3 sizes) and Jorasses from Grivel... sportextreme.com has them cheap if you can wait (it ships from euro). Gripped
Shrikes are on sale everywhere for $99 right now. This Camp Tool is on sale for under $70. Ah, but looking at the specs, it's 8 oz heavier than the shrike.
Stephen_Ramsey
Wow... 907 grams... that's a beast. I wouldn't have the strength to wield it. Nor would I want to carry it into the mountains. Anything over 700 grams seems heavy to me. Edited April 28, 2004 by Stephen_Ramsey
