Was that the ranger cabin that was in the woods right after you leave the main trail and head towards kennedy hot springs? That's sad if so...it was kind of a neat little cabin.

The best approach is to be prepared for a lot of hiking.

According to this map, it seems you could come in from the Chiwawa or White River.

 

This link doesn't show the Chiwawa or White River roads as being affected.

Well, I guess that cleaned all the manure out of the horse camp.

All the skiing up around the Kololo Peaks is great, Gary, going in via white/red passes is preferable to the chiwawa river road, the trails in from Buck Creek Pass are notoriously overgrown. Napeequa river is no good either, i'd go white river, sauk or PCT from little wenatchee.

 

I don't know what the current status is, however. but the skiing up on the glacier cap there is horrible, no one should go in there....the gerdine, suiattle, cool, whitechuck and honeycomb, just horrible...
