tivoli_mike Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 Awhile ago, someone posted this photo, but I can't find it ( or at least not using the right search strings )... Quote
Pandora Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 I never saw that picture! What's the best way to approach Glacier Peak now? Quote
JoshK Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 Was that the ranger cabin that was in the woods right after you leave the main trail and head towards kennedy hot springs? That's sad if so...it was kind of a neat little cabin. Quote
cracked Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 I never saw that picture! What's the best way to approach Glacier Peak now? The best approach is to be prepared for a lot of hiking. Quote
Gary_Yngve Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 Is there a decent way to approach from the SE on skiis? The Whitechuck/Chiwawa area looks badass. Quote
ScottP Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 Is there a decent way to approach from the SE on skiis? The Whitechuck/Chiwawa area looks badass. According to this map, it seems you could come in from the Chiwawa or White River. This link doesn't show the Chiwawa or White River roads as being affected. Quote
CascadeClimber Posted April 28, 2004 Posted April 28, 2004 Well, I guess that cleaned all the manure out of the horse camp. Quote
Beck Posted April 28, 2004 Posted April 28, 2004 All the skiing up around the Kololo Peaks is great, Gary, going in via white/red passes is preferable to the chiwawa river road, the trails in from Buck Creek Pass are notoriously overgrown. Napeequa river is no good either, i'd go white river, sauk or PCT from little wenatchee. I don't know what the current status is, however. but the skiing up on the glacier cap there is horrible, no one should go in there....the gerdine, suiattle, cool, whitechuck and honeycomb, just horrible...
