Blake Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 Climb: St. Helens - Weirdness continues 4/25-Worm Flows Date of Climb: 4/25/2004 Trip Report: Hiked St. Helens, skied down in the slush. It was very warm, and super crowded. There were mobs of folks everywhere, including some oddballs. There were reports of a naked telemarker skiing from the summit, and some middle aged ladies who dropped-trou to take a leak amidst the mob of 30+ people on the summit. We should have summited and decended earlier to hit better snow. Gear Notes: alpine skis for coming down. Crampons, axe, and snowshoes were left in the car,and it was the right decision. Approach Notes: good bootpack up, got real slushy by 12:00 Quote
Skip_M._Kliphiem Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 Wow, that's the strangest thing I've ever heard...middle aged ladies taking a pee. Glad I changed my mind about skiing there this weekend. Quote
lummox Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 not really the kind of wetness i prefer. but who the hell am i kidding: i would take any woman that would have me. old ladies shaking loose drops Quote
peteg Posted April 28, 2004 Posted April 28, 2004 Great photos of St Helens. I, unfortunately, lost my camera on the decent that same day 4/25. If anyone reading this found a fuji 1.2 meg camera in one of my face plants, you can keep it; but I would love to get the Memory card back since it has the pix of my son's climb. Thanks for anyones help. Quote
Blake Posted April 29, 2004 Author Posted April 29, 2004 I heard someone else lost a pair of snowshoes that day. Quote
gapertimmy Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 looks like there were more people on st. helens than those skiing at bachy, might as well put a chair lift up the side of that thing! Quote
AllYouCanEat Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 looks like there were more people on st. helens than those skiing at bachy, might as well put a chair lift up the side of that thing! But a snowmobile is so much more fun. Quote
