assmonkey Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 The story I heard (back in 1995) was that the FBI planted the bomb in the Subaru so that they could arrest the couple for being in possession of illegal weapons of limited destruction, and the bomb accidentally went off before the feds could do the search. This huge settlement payoff would coincide with that theory; the feds are paying to keep their incompetence quiet. The FBI was really fucked up in the early 90's. Ruby Ridge, this, missing OK city. Edgar Hoover it has been more interested in its public image than catching criminals. It took a long time and a lot of pressure to get them to go after the Mafia, but they finally did when forced into it. The FBI has done a lot of good work, and taken a lot of criminals off the street, but it could do a much better job. Quote

The first that the FBI planted the bomb and planned to nab them. They were on the scene in less than 10 minutes which is a bit strange to begin with, and it gets stranger after that. Easy to find old news reports and such on the web. The other is that the timber folks were getting way pissed at Julie's extremely effective, non-violent protests regarding "Redwood Summer" and that they tried to kill her. She had her car and home vandalized before. Quote

Burnt down a Dept of Agriculture office in Olympia a few years back because they were rounding up Canada geese in urban areas where they got outta control (Canada geese for dog's sake - sub sp moffiti - aliens) and then moved on to the big burn in Vail. The Urban Horticulture building was especially misdirected. It housed a huge collection of rare plant references and samples, and numerous conservation ecologists research. The place has not yet fully recovered - financially or otherwise. The recent tourching of a subdivision that meets open space requirements is also a bit odd. Wackos. Quote
