Blakej Posted April 15, 2004 Posted April 15, 2004 Just got a great deal on titanal 3 bindings but the minimum boot length they accept for XL(the only size left) is the exact size of my boots 330mm. Can anyone see where this may be a problem in the future. Should I return them and dish out the extra cash for the more accomodating smaller binding? Quote
snoboy Posted April 15, 2004 Posted April 15, 2004 Friend of mine (FT ski guide FWIW) was just talking about this with someone. He feels that it is better to be at the other end of the range, that is just big enough to fit your boots in. If you are in on the bar, then there is more leverage to break the bar (the weak point of the Fritschis.) Many of the broken Fritschis he has seen were as you describe yours. Remember, all 2nd hand info, blah, blah, blah... YMMV Also you may end up with a smaller shell sometime that will not fit... Quote
Dr_Crash Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 I'd get the L instead. Boot soles today are shorter than they were a few years ago, and that may continue to happen. Also, at least for me, I find out that as I get older I get less tolerant of a sloppy boot fit, and have been able to go a shell size smaller (and remount my alpine bindings, but that's not an option with the Diamirs). drC Quote
JayB Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 If you ever plan on riding them with downhill boots on the lifts the extra expansion range may come in handy. Has for me. Quote
