I read in one of John Long's books once that the only way to be a better climber is to put miles on the rock ( I love how he phrazes things wink.gif ) so instead of heading to Washington to see the man himself I went to Smith to actualy CLIMB. I had SO much fun. I climbed a bunch of easy stuff, but I can feel my confidence building and a shift in how I look at leading. I was able to WORK on a lead instead of walking away from it because I couldn't climb it perfectly. I had a truely wonderful weekend and honestly fell in love with climbing again.

Yeah, it seems like unless yer at some kooky strength or endurance plateau where you need to hit the campus board or weights or go jogging to break through, you're really best off just doin' more cragging. Plus that climbing shit is fun anyhow.
