top_op
Wife and I are heading up to the pass last weekend of March. We will be staying at the Best Western and day ski touring out of the hotel. How is the drive up ? Any route suggestions ? Should we break down and ski at Kicking Horse ? Thanks in advance for any info. .............................................. AlpineK
It kind of depends on the avy conditions when you get there. If things are stormy cold and the avy conditions are stable then ski in a bunch of places. If things are stable and you want some big N facing drops then ski Dome Glacier, 7 steps, the bowl below Sir Donald, or etc. If it's been warm for a wile then ski on south facing slopes. These are mostly behind the hotel...Ursa Major etc. Have fun!
Dru
How is the drive up ? don't tailgate semi's, and pass them as fast as you can, if you like your windshield. if its already cracked then whatever.
Farrgo
Big second on that one, I'm currently sporting a three-foot crack on my windshield. Don't do anything to piss off the rigs either. They have this reverse spotlight that they like to shine in your eyes to piss you off... not cool.
