Dave_Schuldt Posted March 7, 2004 Posted March 7, 2004 For some reason I was thinking of skiing the Carbon Glacier in May. Someone a long time ago told me it was a good ski. Yesterday a friend told me it was flat and there are much better things to ski in May. So what's the story? Quote
ken4ord Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 Hey Dave, the Carbon glacier does really flatten out a bit. If you go, go early in the season before it really starts opening up. I personally think Emmons would be much better for skiing. BTW- sorry I didn't get back to you this weekend, but I figured you wouldn't want a call at 1 am saying that I wasn't going to be able to go to Crystal. Quote
Jim Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 One of my favorites is Van Trump Park to Camp Hazard. Just as high as Muir w/o the crowd. Quote
JoshK Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 Obviously you dont have to ski the whole thing...but judging from the topo, that thing gets LOOOOOONGGGG and flat for the last few thousand feet. Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted March 9, 2004 Author Posted March 9, 2004 I have always wanted to do Van Trump. This weekend should be good if forcast holds. Rangers told me not to take the trail, instead go under the bridge then up. Quote
