DPS Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 (edited) My wife and I went XC skiing for the first time last week. We skiied up the Denny Creek road to Snoqualmie Pass and back. Can someone suggest another tour of similar difficulty (lack of steepness) near Snoqualmie Pass, preferably one that does not require a sno-park pass? Thanks. catbirdseat Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 I think that if you park at the Pacific Crest Trail parking near the Nordic Center, it'll take a Trail Park Pass rather than a SnoPark. I could be wrong. From there you can ski the Iron Horse Trail. Quote
Jim Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 Hey - There's some good groomed trails atop the Snoqualmie ski areas. Go to Hyak XC center and pick up a pass for the "upper trails". You can ski up on low gradient trails or take the lift (good for two rides. Once up there head for Grand Junction and lots of options. If you go towards Ollalie Meadows there is a litte warming hut for lunch. You can explore the trails towards Silver Peak and run some of the clearcuts if you want to, and/or do the Mt. Catherine Loop. I've taken beginners up there and it's fun. Many miles of groomed trails and lots of options. Quote
