Stefan Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 The most controversial part of this plan is the guided climbing. I think it is important to not forget there was also wilderness and alpine wilderness guiding proposals too in the commercial services plan. Â Â I thought proposal 3 was the best proposal; however, I recommended they change it slightly. The regulations on guiding/guiding areas/# of guided people should only be restricted from May 1 to September 30th. From Oct 1 to April 30 there should be no restrictions on anybody. Quote
Dustin_B Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 Newstips - I think this would make a good story. Sure there are other more important issues to climbers, but those issues are probably not as interesting to the general public. It seems to me that any story focusing on any aspect of Mt. Rainier get the attention of the viewers, because it is such an icon of the state. Quote
Pencil_Pusher Posted November 27, 2003 Posted November 27, 2003 I voted for alternative one. No option really affects me, so that's the extent of my opinion on this. Quote
Rocket_Man Posted December 2, 2003 Posted December 2, 2003 The mountain is crowded and more guides mean more people... at least keep them on the south side and leave the Emmons for private climbers so we still have an area to be away from the guided masses and long lines up the mountain. Quote
