Climzalot Posted February 26, 2001 Posted February 26, 2001 Due to a miscommunication with my partner, one of my beloved ice screws was left to fend for itself about 1/2 way up the first pitch of Honeyman Falls in Lilloet. I know this is a long shot/needle in the haystack type request but if anyone happens to be on the route and comes across the little fellow I would greatly appreciate it's return. It is a 13cm BD Express with a blue gated Petzl Spirit biner keeping it company. Feel free to email me for route beta. Thanks for the consideration Coley Gentzel climzalot@hotmail.com Quote
mikeadam Posted February 26, 2001 Posted February 26, 2001 Hey Borbon weren't you on this over the weekend? Maybe Fred snagged it bro... Mike http://alpinelite.com Quote
rayborbon Posted February 26, 2001 Posted February 26, 2001 I was not on Honeyman but spoke to Fred Beckey and he was headed up there on Sunday. If you can find him ask him about it. I know he scouted it on Saturday. Fred may be hard to find though... -Ray Quote
Climzalot Posted February 27, 2001 Author Posted February 27, 2001 I was actually climbing with Fred this weekend and he is part of the reason the ice screw is still there. Kind of a complicated story. Anyway I will keep my fingers crossed for a kind soul passing back by that way. Thanks for the tips. Quote
David_Parker Posted February 27, 2001 Posted February 27, 2001 Having just read Challenge of the North Cascades (highly recommended), I'd like to hear a little more about this Fred guy! How old is he now and does he still crank? Talk about a legend!!! They ought to make a movie about him! Is he writing an autobiography? DPP Quote
Rodchester Posted February 27, 2001 Posted February 27, 2001 Fred is older than dirt, not quite as old as rock, but older than dirt. Quote
Dru Posted February 27, 2001 Posted February 27, 2001 They ARE making a movie about him, a documentary that is. (for info: expedition@sunshine.net). It will not feature any nitro [This message has been edited by Dru (edited 02-27-2001).] Quote
