fleblebleb Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 Are the SRSP/Skull Hollow campgrounds going to be chock full this weekend? Anybody have a clue? The wife and I are driving to California and want to stop at Smith for a night, either Sunday or Monday night. I figure Monday night wouldn't be a problem, but showing up in the early afternoon on Sunday Labor Day weekend might not work out that well? I'll appreciate any helpful hints, pretty please, and undoubtedly find the necessary teasing and trash talk quite funny as well Quote
erik Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 its never full there are no camp limit restrictions. tho i think technically you are only allowed to park on the gravel/dirt. but that doesnt happen.. free for all! it is public free space, so there are no site you cannot camp on. if someone tells you it is there space, ask for a resveration# or some sort of confirmation that they have the right to the land, and to who gets to access it. it will be out fuckin control there! b-rock Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 for what it's worth i visited smith for my first time last year labor day weekend, and with the exception of a handful of winter days since, i've never seen it less crowded than that weekend. weird. Quote
Figger_Eight Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 If the campground is full (it probably will be) keep driving up the road towards the hills. There might be some pullouts up there. You'll also have more privacy. Quote
