Cpt.Caveman Posted January 7, 2002 Posted January 7, 2002 I was up on Mt Stuart's summit earlier last summer and was looking for my previous notes I had put in there with a friend back in '96. They weren't there. I think the oldest signings I saw (hazy memory) was in 98. Who cleans out the summit registers? Mother nature hehehe? Just curious if anyone knows anything about this subject. Curious Caveman scratches melon. Quote
mattp Posted January 7, 2002 Posted January 7, 2002 A while back there was some discussion on this board wherein it was said that the USFS has in the past removed summit registers in the name of wilderness management. I have no idea how widespread the practice may have been, but it is possible that Mount Stuart was cleaned of such unsightly debris. Quote
Cpt.Caveman Posted January 7, 2002 Author Posted January 7, 2002 Well I was not really talking about that but if you want to imply that it was possible that it ocurred I guess it might be. I dont know if that past subject is related to mine though and dont beleive it so unless it is proven to be honest. Quote
jhamaker Posted January 7, 2002 Posted January 7, 2002 Generaly the summit log is returned to the club that placed it, then someone from the club renews it. UW also archives some. Quote
