cracked
Several times I have read that sleeping in a bivy bag in hard rain will make you wet. I wouldn't know, so I believe all who say this. But couldn't you use a tiny (say, 5 by 5 feet) pitched over the upper half of a bivy bag to protect the hood and zipper, thus reducing wetness? Just curious... erik
i think the issue is that your body heat pushes the moisture out of the bag, but when it is raining the little tiny pores that do so already have water on them...not allowing the water to escape thus creating a saturation... i doubt that makes sesne, but i think it is right on... Lambone
yeah erik's right...and the zippers and stuff leak. Pro MOuntain Sports carries a bunch of cool ultralight tarps that would be great for exactly what you are talking about...
